Real sorry about that, man. Stay strong. For the others that couldn't.
Context please? Because the way this is worded leaves a lot of questions in the air. Namely: who is your rapist and why are they getting so many gifts from your mother... Seriously, this makes very little sense...
Clearly the rapist/abuser is a family member. Most likely OP's father or stepfather (or the mother's long term boyfriend). Some parents don't want to accept that they married a monster, so when abuse allegations arise, they take their spouse's side and distance themselves from their child.
Why the hell is she buying him gifts? Is her boyfriend or something? This makes no sense.
I'm guess a stepdad, brother, or uncle? So very sorry you had to go through that.
For all of you people saying this makes no sense, I'm happy you never had to suffer the type of abuse that would make this statement understandable. OP I hope you can find closure and a healthy self worth again and my heart goes out to you for your lack of family support, you aren't alone even though I know you feel like you are at times.
I'm so sorry to hear that, OP! I know your mother's actions make no sense to you, and neighter should they, but I bet she loves you, she just can't stand to deal with the truth. That is not your fault, it's hers, and there is nothing wrong with you! You are a loveable and good person, no matter what that man did to you! And hopefully one day your mother will come to her senses and be ashamed of her way of handling things
