Today, I was talking about how excited I was about going to warped tour with my friends when my mom overheard my conversation. She looked up one of the bands performing and canceled my tickets because she doesn't want me to listen to the "devil's music." FML

As someone with an extremely religious mom I've had similar problems. I'm assuming the band she looked up is one that screams. Show her some of the lyrics. Most of those bands have positive messages in them and don't worship satan. Best of luck OP. Maybe see you in the mosh pit!

That really sucks OP. It's going to be my first time going this year and I'm excited as hell. Let's hope you can make it!

Are there any bands going that are somewhat more... Christian-focused? You could try to find one that your mom would think is more acceptable and tell her you were going to see them?

Simply state that you are not religious. It's your choice. It's music. Just because she dislikes it doesn't make it devil music. Not going to make you any worse than when she was your age I'm sure...

Sadly, telling super religious parents you don't follow their religion isn't always a good thing. Sometimes you're better off keeping your mouth shut until you move out. Who knows how much OP depends on their mom.
