Today, I loaned my mom my savings 3000. I got home to find an eviction notice b/c my landlord sold the place and a message from my mom's friend saying I need to stop borrowing money from my mom and to get my ish together to support my kids. My mom said sorry about your luck I owe you nothing. FML

I don't know if I'd go so far as to sue- if only because such a case would be a major pain in the ass and probably get OP disowned by the entire family- but I definitely would never do her a favor again, and if she asked why, I'd be blunt about why. Also, apply for food stamps- you may be eligible for something and every bit helps. I'd also put your mom's friend in her place by showing her any evidence you have that your mom asked YOU for money.

Yea I would sue. Unless $3000 is something you come by often? That's a lot to have in savings. And since when do you have to let things like stealing your money and not paying your rent, just slide?
