And yet cops are the ones getting the bad rap.
Cops get a bad rap because they don't usually have pysch evals and total monsters get in a position of power that they proceed to abuse by murdering, torturing, raping, and molesting civilians, killing animals that are restrained and properly restricted, taking bribes, and otherwise abusing authority. Then the rest of police get a bad rap because they either turn a blind eye to their colleagues actions, or because civilians don't want to be the next victim on the news from a corrupt cop, so they treat every cop like a potential attacker. What OP did is wrong, but it is nowhere near related to the way cops are treated, and you do both cops and the victims of corrupt cops a riser ice by comparing the two. Unless you honestly think that OP lying somehow means they should be treated how the victims of police corruption are treated, in which case you need a reminder that cops aren't the judge or jury, and deciding who should be punished and how isn't really their job.
I appreciate your effort in that post. However, most people seem to forget that "police corruption" includes only a small fraction of the thousands of men & women who risk their lives to protect yours. Every system is going to have employee's that abuse their power, not just police. Now, I'm not condoning police corruption and I do agree that there should be stricter entry requirements but the point I was trying to get across is that ALL police are getting a bad rap in today's world. Not just the handful that have gone sour. This woman was speeding and couldn't even be an adult long enough to take responsibility for her actions. As a Paramedic myself, I'd rather this woman get a ticket than have to report to a high speed collision because she lost control of her vehicle. This policemen was doing his job. The post of my post was that civilians should lean to respect that.
I'm guessing that reason comprehension isn't high on the list of job requirements, considering that I made the statement that it was a few monsters that get in that make people wary of all police men. And again, this situation and a cop attacking a civilian are completely inequitable. A cop raping someone during a traffic stop, lying about it, and his coworker's backing him up is way different than a young adult panicking over a ticket and lying. Also, maybe not every cop attacks someone themself, but entire precincts have, do, and will support the police officer responsible for such an act, going so far as to alter and destroy evidence. So saying it's 'only a few' may as well be slapping every victim of police crimes and tell them that they're a 'statistical minority' and that they deserve it because someone else lied to get out of a traffic ticket. So no, using this as justification for trying to hide or ignore the crimes police commitor paint people as being in the wrong for being wary of an establishment that has proved they have corruption they rarely try to drive out or even actively aid, is not acceptable, whatever spin of deranged logic you try to put on it.
Fat and a liar. The total package!
I'd tap that. *sarcasm*
I hope that reason is never the real reason. You'd feel terrible
