Today, I got a call from my insurance telling me that I pretty much get nothing for my car's claim. I just got the letter telling me I fully own my car two days ago. Hello debt, here I come again. FML

This happened to me last year too, the only thing was I had two payments to go. So I wasn't even given any money, just the payoff. Not even a down payment. Hang in there OP.

Something similar to this happened to my older sister except she got in a car accident 2 days after calling her IC to figure out how to save money on her policy. My sister who isn't exactly the brightest person at times did the first thing the lady recommended; removing collision. Which basically means my sister had to pay about 3 thousand dollars worth of damage out of pocket. She still had a loan on it too, which in NY (where I'm from) it's required to have collision as long as there is a loan on it. The sad part my sister even asked about that and the lady said she would be fine.
