Content almost refused by staff

Today, I fear I may have broken my ankle. I called a friend who I knew would be in my area later today anyway and asked if she could give me a lift to the nearest A&E. She told me to get a taxi. FML

You shouldn't expect favors from someone, most friends would do you that favor if they were able to. I assume in this case your friend has other prerogatives. Sorry you have to pay for the taxi!

Unfortunately a broken ankle isn't an emergency. Especially if you called a friend rather than an ambulance. People can't drop their lives in a second to help. Now it'd be different if your friend was home not doing anything.

Just because your friend was in the area doesn't mean she's available to give you ride. Though, she probably could have been nicer about it.
