Today, my wife, who I thought was my soulmate, admitted that she only went out on our first date because she'd lost a bet, and she'd thought I was a loser. Even though she kept saying that she really did fall in love with me, I left. My heart is just shattered. I'm not going back. FML

Today, the woman I left my wife for says she doesn’t wanna date me because she "sees me as a best friend” and “You just got divorced, it’s kinda awkward.” I caught feelings for this woman, tried to fight it for months and finally caved in, only to be told she sees me as a platonic friend. My wife won’t take me back. FML

I understand that getting comfortable illusions shattered is disconcerting. However, relationships have a life of their own. What might have started out as a lost bet might have blossomed into something real. … Don’t throw it all away if that’s the only issue. Talk it out. See a counselor if you need to.

Actually that is pretty wholesome that she went on the date to realize she was wrong and fell in love with you. But I feel sad for your wife that it took you this long to prove her right if you’re willing to leave her for being honest and shattering your fragile ego.
