Today, my girlfriend of 2 years broke up with me because I hadn't popped the question to her yet. For the last six months, I have been respectfully trying to convince her over protective father to give me his blessing. FML

Anyone else find it more than a little ironic that OP's girlfriend will now have to wait probably another two years at least before getting that proposal she so desperately wants? Unless, of course, OP took her back after her completely dick move. If so, I hope she apologised for being such a cow about you not proposing when it suited her, after you explained the whole situation with her dad. If she didn't apologise, you're better off without.
