Today, I went to visit my grandpa. He has an easily excited dog, who barreled into my freshly broken knee. I felt my knee move out of place again. The dog chipped a tooth. We went to the vet first. FML

Sorry you had to go through that OP but I think you can hardly blame the dog. After all, your grandpa allows him to be excited anytime he wants. Also, a chipped tooth is a serious matter for dogs as a broken knee. Your parents should have split up and brought you and the dog to hospital and vet cuz you're in equal pain. :) You did something nice for the dog. Think of it this way.

Don't think OP was blaming doggy but he can certainly blame grandpa... A broken knee that is re-broken is going to be SUPER FREAKING painful!! In that situation, would you say, oh sure, let's stop for doggy dental work or DROP ME OFF AT THE ER FIRST.

You should have just gone to the vet together to save time and possibly money. Sounds like your grandpa thinks more of the dog than he does you.

I'm assuming you had a cast on..........how could the dog knock your knee out of place if you had a decent cast? You might wanna talk to your doctor about that.

You probably haven't broken a bone lately. Gone are the days of heavy plaster casts. The OP may have had external pins placed -imagine having a dog jump onto one of those! Ouch!

I've never broken a bone - just strained or sprained (or popped things back into place). If pins are that easy to knock out, maybe they should rethink the casts.

Call 911, let the ambulance take you to the hospital to treat that broken knee, and your grandpa can drive the dog to the vet for his tooth.

Humans come before animals. My opinion is firm.
