Today, I got the cell phone bill for my family and saw that my son had gone over his limit by around 1,000 messages. Curious to see what he was talking about that much, I read the messages. Apparently, my 15 year old son is having it off more than me and my wife. FML

@299 I'm 15 too. Heres a few thoughts, 1.) learn to spell. 2.) cursing every other word doesnt make you cool, and it certainly doesnt give you that mature-beyond-my-age impression you were going for. 3.) Nobody wants to hear about your dumb religious beliefs. Nothings going to happen if someone has sex before their married. as long as he has safe sex he's fine 4.) Your advocating for invasion of privacy just makes you seem like that asshole snitch that nobody likes, who believes everything their parents tell them and take on all their values without questioning anything. So, somehow i doubt that your a better parent than half the parents out there. And i doubt you'll ever be, because chances are your never getting laid.

HI! ^^ It doesn't sound like the OP was snooping, just curious what the hell his son was texting about - going over by 1000 texts is cause for concern! I'm fairly sure I haven't sent 1000 text in my life and I've had a cell phone for almost a decade now!! Prettttty sure if the kid deleted his inbox/sent box this situation would not have happened. Since the messages are not on the bill picking up his son's cell would have been the fastest and easiest way to read what he had been texting. His son has a right to privacy? not really. It's a parent's job to monitor what their children are doing. I don't know if you kids know this but if YOU fuckup, your parents are LEGALLY responsible for it. I know this because my parents had to go to court with me on several occasions xD From the sounds of it, the OP has been giving this kid too much privacy. $20 says the OP doesn't even know any of the girls (guys?) his son has been banging. YDI for not being more involved in your son's life, FYL for not getting any play - put teh phone down and put the skin to the Mrs. : D

I recently found out that my 14 yr old daughter had been sexting..and sending sexy pictures to her boyfriend. How did I find out? he forwarded one of the pictures to his friend and it ended up on myspace where her father saw it. So I banned her from her cellphone, now she just has one that she can only contact us on, and she's not allowed to text. I commend you for reading your sons texts and finding out about this behaviour before it gets out of hand. I wish I had. Those that are saying you are rude and nosey and have failed at parenting are either children, or just don't care what their children are up to.

This kid doesnt have the right to privacy until he is 18. Dont belive me?? Try haveing a dad as a cop!!! If u dont then pick up a law book!!!! Andddd...... The dad probably just took the phone and looked. Its not that hard if the kif is a dunb ass and didnt delete the messages. I just hope the dad did some thing about his kid. Ahahah he probably is adicted to having sex. Hahaha that would be sooo ******* hilarous!!!:)

What the eff is wrong with your son? And what the eff is wrong with you that he's doing that kind of stuff at fifteen? It's just the fact that he's doing it that's so bad; the fact that he's doing it so much just makes it even worse. I'm glad you decided to finally at least be somewhat of a good parent by checking when he had sent far too many messages. It's too late to completely save your boy, but you can at least make him pay for the messages he sent after meeting the limit. Oh, and don't worry about you and your wife. If you both like the amount you have sex, then screw what everyone else is doing.
