My 3 yr old doesn't know how to work them (the covers that go on a door knob) but he knows how to take it completely off, open the door, then put it back on. I'm not sure if I should be impressed or upset! I still have a hard time getting them on/off but have figured out how to work it while on... 0_o

Those things can be tricky! Child proof outlets are tricky, too. You know the kind. They look normal until you try to plug something in. You have to put it in just right or it won't work (I can see the "that's what she said" replies already *facepalm).
