OP those who are saying you have no right to sue are incorrect. You would have to quit your job and write in your statement that you were "constructively discharged". This means you had no choice but to quit because your hours were taken away and given to his family. Contact the EEOC: http://www.eeoc.gov/contact/ They will send you a statement of charges to file against your employer. Once they have recieved the statement they will launch an investigation. After they complete the investigation they will inform you whether there is enough evidence or not to pursue criminal charges. If there is not enough for criminal charges, they will send you a right to sue letter. Once you recieve that letter talk to an attorney. You could get a nice chunk of change out of this.
dont bitch about it online but confront your boss.....
If he was your dad you'd expect him to give you a job too. You can always look for another job.
find a new job.hope everything works in your favor.
What about nepotism? Last I checked it's illegal.
all you can do is your best. and if all works out, his kids will suck and in turn lose him money.
Makes sense to hire family members in times a company isn't doing so well. I know my boss has his mother come in to help with the store since she's willing to do it for less than the other employees or even for free.
