Nepotism FTL. bitch slap him with a law suit. if you're actually a good worker and what you say is true, there's no way you'd loose that lawsuit. My company is currenty experiencing it. ^_^
sexual harrassment charges. the boss approached you,you refused, hours cut.AND the BBB. they investigate ALL accusations and even look for resolutions and to make sure it has been resolved. it. will say 4 complaints, 1 not resolved. I still like the harassment charge if you have the guts. it'll also play havoc with that close knit family.
Sorry, but making a false charge would be a bitch move on OP's part, since there's no evidence of it occurring. She not only would lose her job, she'd leave herself open to a slander lawsuit. I'm pretty sure she'd have a hard time paying the resulting legal fees if she's unemployed.
that's the way it is dude when you work for a family-owned business. i currently have 2 jobs and both are family owned. the son and daughter get the most hours regardless of how much school work they get, they get special advantages and stuff. i personally cannot stand it. but i've learned to be thankful that i at least have a job.
I'm sorry about that. I know how it feels. I was so grateful to find a job a couple months ago, only to find that my boss started cutting down my hours significantly after my first pay check. After a girl quit last week, I thought I'd be able to work more. Instead, I found out he hired someone new to take her place. I'm grateful for the job I have, but working minimum wage AND having my hours cut DOES suck.
If someone gets fired there is a BIG chance they will not get unemployment, unless the boss admits that the employee was laid off. I would talk to the boss though because that is just ridiculous and unfair. He shouldn't do that, I know they are his kids but at the same time he needs to realize that its a business and you shouldn't do that. Try to find something else and then quit!
"If someone gets fired there is a BIG chance they will not get unemployment, unless the boss admits that the employee was laid off." Not entirely true. It depends on why you were fired. For example, if you went all crazy, cussing people out, stealing, breaking things etc, it would be very difficult to get unemployment pay. But, if you were fired because of not hitting a sales budget (like I was), it's less difficult to get unemployment, you just need proof that was the ONLY reason why you lost your job. Just wanted to clarify. Because I've been in that position before :)
