Today, I drove 4 hours to see my girlfriend of a year, as she had asked me to stay with her for a few days. When I arrived she told me she wanted to be friends as she liked someone else, but wanted me to stay the few days so we could work on being friends. FML

Say no. How nicely you say it and how you go about doing it are up to you, but if you have an ounce of dignity, you won't stay. She doesn't deserve you - not even as a friend.

1. At least she broke up with you. 2. She didnt cheat. 3. She appreciates you enough to want a friendship 4. It was only a year wasted.. On the other hand.. 1. She got your hopes up and then broke up with you. 2. She replaced you. 3. She probably didnt mean it. These ones never do. 4. You wasted a whole year. First of all who saids she didn't cheat. If she is willing to look for another boyfriend what about her integerity saids she wouldn't do more than just look. If the girl had any sense at all and truely cared about you she would have broke it off with you over the phone and told she found someone else cause she was tired of feeling lonely. Asking the person you dump to be friends with you is a completely selfish act to ease your own guilt. The only one of my ex's I didn't hate was the one who told me we couldn't be friends after, six months later after we were both in happy relationships we became friends agian because we both had move on. Its been 4 years were still good friends.
