If she has schizophrenia, I read they actually see their "imaginary friends." They look very real to them and they sometimes cant distinguish these hallucinations vs real people.

You're wrong. Certain schizo people hear voices and see people or animals that aren't really there. Multiple personality disorder is just that....different personalities. Not seeing things.
