i just got rejected from the easiest school on my list and still ahve 6 other harder schools to hear back from.. i might be joining you at target
.
bummer, i got into my first and second choice Ivys.... try to be smarter next time. though cheap labor is pretty useful in our current time, so don't worry, you're life doesn't have to be wasted.
Sounds like it's South Harmon Institute of Technology for you! The thing is, all the idiots that get into college straight out of high school totally take it for granted. Just think of it this way, you're going to have to work for it, so you're going to appreciate it more and get more out of it than any of the cocky douchebags who are putting you down.
Apply to Community College, work your @$$ off for the next two years, then transfer to a better school. Try to maintain a 4.0 or as close to that as possible, and plan your schedule well. Look at the schools you'd like to attend and see what they accept as far as transfer credit goes, since many schools don't accept transfer credit for certain classes. You've got two years to polish your resume, so make the best of them. Depending on your class rank and what state you live in, the state might cover your tuition for community college as well as the cost of attending a state school for 2 years. Plus, I'm sure you'll be able to save up some of your earnings at Target. When I applied for college, I managed to get rejected from 4 schools, waitlisted at one, and got into my bottom 2 choices. I'm attending my safety school, since the other one would've cost me an extra $35,000 a year.
"bummer, i got into my first and second choice Ivys.... try to be smarter next time. though cheap labor is pretty useful in our current time, so don't worry, you're life doesn't have to be wasted." #95, no one likes a condescending asshole. People like that get laughed at when they can't figure out why they didn't even get an interview at the medical/law schools they applied to.
wow. waitlisted on a backup? thats saying something..
#95, it's "your," not "you're." Try to be smarter next time. Or at least dip into your trust fund for some grammar lessons (that's how you supposedly got into an Ivy, right?). OP, I don't know all the circumstances, so I can't speak with absolute certainty.. but these days, one safety is def. not enough. But community college can get you into a great school if you work hard enough and you plan well.

note to you... a back-up is supposed to be a school you're sure that you'll get into classic case of inflated head syndrome
You obviously overestimated your academic achievements. Don't feel sorry for you. Tough luck. Maybe community college is the way to go for you.
