The comments on this FML made me lose SO MUCH of what little hope in mankind I still had. So much stupidity is breaking my brain. FYL, OP. GTFO idiots commenting imbecillic things. All the people who can't understand that the smell of a decaying body will go through walls and stick to the walls & rooms all around, are morons. Obviously the body isn't in the OP's place!! They are also morons for not realizing that people die all over the world all the time, in their houses/apartments/and so on, and decay until someone finds them, usually either because they miss hearing from them, or because a neighbor calls the cops due to the smell. What, did you think people know when they'll die and go to some special place to do it?? It happens anywhere, often where they live. Usually, it takes a few days before someone notices, in some cases longer. (In a horrible case I heard of, several years...) It's not the OP's fault nor does he has any reason to feel bad for disliking the smell in his place. I hope the landlord will do something about it, because otherwise, considering the body decayed for a long time, the uhm eww, decomposing juices going into the boards in the ground will leave a residual smell... Though that would mostly suck for anyone moving to their place, it won't be so bad in your place. After some time, that is. You probably should have called the police or something to check on the smell sooner though. 2 weeks is quite a bit, and with such a strong smell, you might have been able to guess it wasn't an animal or something. Unless they were in a farther room not so close to your wall maybe. :-/ Now you know for the next time! (If you live around a lot of old people living alone this knowledge might come in handy...)

I think you'll need industrial grade air freshener to clear out the remaining smell. Its stupid hiding a dead body in a residential building, you have to feed it to pigs because they eat anything, even the bones.
