Today, I found the source of the bad smell that has been plaguing me for the past two weeks in my apartment. The police knocked on my door asking if I've seen my neighbor recently. I haven't. The smell has been that of a dead person. It's a smell that even Febreze can't remove. FML

Today, I finally determined the source of the horrible smell that periodically invades my apartment: there's nothing wrong with the plumbing as I previously thought, I can just smell my neighbors pooping in their bathroom on the other side of the wall. FML

Today, I opened my front door to be greeted by what I can only describe as the stink of death. After moving furniture and lifting floorboards, frantically searching for whatever had died, I finally discovered the actual source of the stench - my girlfriend's feet. FML

Today, I came home to a terrible smell in the apartment. Three hours, and a scoured kitchen later, I took the trash out. The smell was not my apartment, but from just across the alley; a neighbor had moved and emptied their fridge. Six more days of sunned milk until pickup. FML

Today, I woke up to a weird smell in my apartment. I checked everywhere but couldn’t find the source. After a while, I discovered the smell was coming from the pile of laundry I'd left in the corner, laundry that I thought was clean. It was the gym clothes I'd thrown in there three weeks ago. FML

Today, I realized my morbidly obese, sweaty sibling is the source of a strange waft I've been smelling when I get home. He'll only shower once a week, so the apartment and furniture smell like sweat and sometimes poo, especially on hot days. I didn't notice until I went outside and stepped back in to follow my nose. FML

For you guys saying F his nighbors life, or F his family's, just think about how it would feel to have a neighbor in the same building as you die, and the source of a horrible smell is his corpse rotting next to you. That's creepy to think about when you have to live there. If it were me, I don't think I'd still be able to live there...

on a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero. you don't have to feel bad for every schmuck that dies. and plenty of people don't keep tabs on their neighbors. i hardly ever see mine. although, if there was an odd lingering smell, the first thing i would think of is when i saw him/his car last, but i'm morbid and that's where my mind goes. my neighbor across the hall died when we lived in our first apartment, but we didn't really know the guy so it was just like "oh shit, that guy's dead? wow." life must be pretty difficult for those of you who feel the need to be sad and worked up every time ANYONE dies.

#321 - Fight Club reference? cool. This REALLY sucks though. FYL...its not like you would have known that someone died in the apartment next to you unless you've had that happen before...i dont know what decaying flesh smells like and i wouldnt expect anyone else too. kinda sad that no one noticed he was dead though. your neighbor must not have had many friends or family members that cared about them. sorry about the smell. ew. hope you can get it to go away XD

#321 - Fight Club reference? you're my hero for that. OP - that really sucks. and its really gross. ew. no one wants to smell a dead body for 2 weeks! XD and all those people that are saying that you should've known that he was dead...i dont see my neighbors very often, i wouldnt know if one of them died. and i've never smelt decaying flesh before so i wouldnt think: hmm it smells REALLY bad in here, my neighbor must have died. more like: ew what the heck is that smell make it go away! >: that is creeepyy though. if there was a dead guy next door i would definitely move just because i'm afraid of dead people. and i dont think the smell goes away very easily... FYL, you definitely didnt deserve this, how could you have known? (unless you killed him O_O ..jk) edit: thought my first comment didnt post. sorry D:
