awe, my sister has alophcia. it doesn't effect her though. I'm jealous. she doesn't have to shave, ever again!!! plus she can change her hair without ruining it.

I don't know... I think if you tried a lawsuit, the judge would be wondering why you weren't attempting to work with the hand fate dealt you and making your hair presentable for your job. I am NOT on your boss' side at all, and I think he should have asked you to try and make yourself look nicer before firing you, but I think there are ways this could have been prevented on your side. However, if you want this job or another in the same field, I'd say just fix up your hair (if it's to gain a job, I'd recommend spending some money to see a good stylist), talk to your boss, and THEN sue if he still doesn't comply. I think he really would, though, if that was your only issue.

That's true enough. OP could also try explaining alopecia to the boss... it's possible something may come out of that.

Are you completely stupid? It's called the Americans With Disabilities Act, and alopecia DEFINITELY qualifies. Why should OP have to find a career appropriate to their "hairstyle"? If they got hired despite the alopecia, getting fired certainly qualifies for wrongful termination.

Nowhere does it say that OP was hired with alopecia. It's very possible due to the amount of stress in the working environment (or other life situations) that the OP lost their hair after hire. Also, it doesn't state where OP is from. They may not even be American, in which case your comment would be invalid. Not every country has an Act like that. IMO alopecia is not a disability. It does not hinder the way OP works or how well they are able to work. It's purely aesthetic.
