Today, I was telling my dad about plans to go out late for a few drinks next week. My dad started his usual "YOU COULD GET RAPED!" lecture, before my brother sprang to my defence, "It's not like she's what they're after, is she?" Apparently, rapists are out of my league. FML

Today, I decided to dress up a little to go out to the bar. I put on a nice shirt, some leggings, and heels. When I walked out the door, my dad said that I looked like a whore. When I got to my boyfriend's house I told him what my dad had said and he replied, "I'd have to agree with him." FML

Why is everyone saying this isn't an fml? Her brother called her ugly. So ugly in fact that a rapist who has no standards and goes for low self esteem girls wouldn't want her. She's not saying "today I will never get raped fml" she's saying her brother called her horribly ugly. Whether it's from a brother or not, no one wants to hear that /:

This is DEFINATLY something I would do to my sister. I would say that and my dad would laugh and say, "oooh, you're horrible!" My sister would be "offended" but not in an FML sort of way. This should read, "today, my brother made a joke at my expense. MLIA (My Life is Average)"

If guys are serial rapists, they usually have a "type" of girl they like...So in a way it IS about attractiveness, just the wong kind. I don't think it matters really, I think all rapists should all be castrated, but that's just me.

That's okay, OP, I had something similar happen to me. (Well, it's kind of opposite, but in the same vein... Whatever. Story time!) I made a comment to a friend that I don't think I'm "rapable" and he came back with, "Oh believe me, you're VERY rapable." I hastily made an excuse to leave, and went home as quickly as speed limits allow. This isn't an FYL or a YDI. I'd say just be happy that your brother was trying to stand up for you.
