Today, I broke up with my girlfriend. Driving her home, we got stuck in a construction zone. I waited half an hour with with my ex-girlfriend bawling her eyes out in the passenger seat as I watched the traffic lady eat her lunch. FML

LOL. The first time I read this I skipped the first bit and was like, wow, your girlfriend was so hungry that she cried after seeing someone else eating?

YDI for not dumping her in a situation where you didn't further interact with her.

I would have said something like this, "you know one of the reasons we are breaking up is due to your lack of adenturesome. Like right now my ideal woman would take this long wait as an opp for some road head.". The tell her u may reconsider for a ********. then dump her again when u dump her dumb ass at home.

That probably would work on most women ...

Good job, jerk-off. You could have prevented all that awkwardness by taking her home first. At least if she was at home, someone could be there to comfort her instead of being stuck with you for a horrible half hour.

It must have been awkward for both of you, and perhaps you could have done it when dropping her off instead of in the car. However, I have respect for you because you at least had the balls to do it in person, rather than over the phone, through text/email/etc.

Ouch, but I agree with the person who said F the girlfriend's life. Sure it's awkward for you, but she got to sit in the car with someone she probably still liked/loved... who just dumped her. That's worse.

why couldn't you have just waited until you dropped her off?

Agreed with #67. But then again it would be better to do that asap. That's really nice of you to drive her home afterwards.

Pretty sure "their house" is on the top 10 list of Worst Places To Break Up With Someone (this list does exist)
