Today, I broke up with my girlfriend. Driving her home, we got stuck in a construction zone. I waited half an hour with with my ex-girlfriend bawling her eyes out in the passenger seat as I watched the traffic lady eat her lunch. FML

LOL. The first time I read this I skipped the first bit and was like, wow, your girlfriend was so hungry that she cried after seeing someone else eating?

YDI for not dumping her in a situation where you didn't further interact with her.

Drive her, then dump her, and I think this is really sad. Poor gf, but w/e you knew her not me.

Actually, I think breaking up with her to her face is probably the nicest thing you could have done, because you were there if she needed someone. A half an hour might be a bit long, but I hope you at least tried to cheer her up in the meantime.

perfect time for "**** or walk"

Why'd you even go out with her in the first place if you're going to break up with her? Fool.

#29 You're being sarcastic right? People don't go out with the intent of breaking up, it's something that happens when things don't work out. I'm sure this guy probably had a reason for doing it, no matter how stupid it may be, people don't break things off unless one (or both) of them are unhappy with the relationship and want out. It appears she was happy with how things were going, which is definitely unfortunate for her but doesn't make him a prick either.

Aww I feel for your ex..... She must have really cared about you for her to be "bawling her eyes out". Why would you break her heart like that knowing you were her ride home? YDI

I don't think you're an asshole for breaking up with her, but I feel pretty shitty for her though...
