Obviously I don't know the tone with which she said that, but maybe that was an intended compliment that just went horribly wrong. Maybe the grandmother was trying to tell the fiance that he shouldn't delay marrying you and, you know, having fun with you. Perhaps it was an attempt at humor with the intention of complimenting you...or maybe she's just a vicious old lady. Who knows.
