There are many types of ignorant jerks around. Apparently, people from Europe tend to love to hate the kind that has grown up in America and bashes on differences between other countries and their own. And at the same time, that same European says that Americans are stupid and uncultured. In conclusion, we have to stand-points where both think they're better.
Our continents are growing closer to one another, electronically. This means that we get exposed to parts of foreign culture we knew little about. Some people can deal with it, some can't.
