Today, I went on a date for the first time in eight months. He didn't make a move. I then asked if we were on a date. He said, "I don't know, I guess." I can't tell either. FML

Today, I brought my new boyfriend to dinner with my family. Everything was going smoothly until my dad asked him how long we’d been dating. My boyfriend looked at me, then said, "Uh, I think it's been… four months?" I looked horrified and said, "It's been TWO!" Now I’m wondering if we’re dating or just two confused people stuck in a situationship. FML

He thought you were until you asked, so he got embarrassed and pretended like he didn't know. Obviously

You think every guy is obliged to make a move on the first date? Sounds like you don't need a date. What you need is a one-night stand. Go to a bar instead. There will be plenty of guys ready to make a move.

hmm maybe u should've made a move....YDI

i agree! is it always the guy that has to make the move?!?

Because it's not really classy for the girl to make the move on the first date. It makes it look as though you're too eager and can't wait for him to make it. I know some guys are shy though, but if they really wanted to make the move, they would. After the first date, I think it's cool for the girl to make the moves though.

YOU SHOULD HAVE MADE A MOVE YA SILLY GOOSE! :)

Touché* is what I believe you meant, unless you speak a new French-English hybrid language.

so you've gotta get some action to make a date official? maybe the guy respects you and doesn't want to seem like a douche by /expecting/ anything physical on the first date... maybe you were so blatantly obvious in your apparent '**** ME' scheme that he was repulsed?? maybe he's not a very physical person.... maybe he expected you to make the move it /is/ ok for the girl to make the first move this really isn't an 'fml' it's more 'ehh*shrug*' than fml

I don't see this as much of an fml. it probably is more so from his point of view. Today, I was on a date. Nervous, I didn't really make a move. Half way through, she asked me if it was a date.. FML
