Quite the ask

Today, my parents cut ties with me because I refused to drop out of college and move five states away with them for a "fresh start" after the deaths of my siblings. I basically lost my whole family in the span of just two months. FML

They are not thinking straight because of grief. Hang in there, they will realize their mistake.

In times of grief, many people want to keep one thing that's normal. For you, it may be college. Their decision to make a fresh start (?) is only their decision. Sorry for your loss.

Grief sends you crazy for 3 to 5 years before you start circling back to beginning to actually function again. You need your normal to cope and your parents are clearly just running away from everything. I know it hurts beyond description but they're not thinking, it's entirely reflexive and they're going to regret it down the line. Find yourself counselling to keep you level and hopefully you've got some decent friends around you until your parents start thinking again. Get help, make sure you've got a support group around you and hang on to the collage work with all you've got. There's no 'right' way to deal with grief. There's just constructive and destructive ways to get through it. Do some reading into it, talk to a professional and understand what you are going through. It's the only way to get through it without waking up one day, five states away from everything you know in the smoking ash and rubble of what's left of your life... 🫂
