Today, I found out my junkie brother broke into my home, and stole mine AND my children's belongings whilst we were on holiday. I rang my mother to vent, only for her to blatantly defend him and insist I got it wrong. We caught him on camera, and now I'm being scolded for even thinking he would do such a thing. FML

Today, after my aunt died and left me everything, I found my heroin addict brother searching my house, demanding his share of the money. He thought I had it in cash, so I called the cops. Now our mom is mad at me because a good brother would have given him something. FML

Today, my screw-up brother turned up at my house, expecting to move in rent free. Apparently, mom kicked him out and sent him to me. He's a freeloading demon, who's almost impossible to get rid of, so I told him to get lost and locked my door. Now my mom calls every 5 minutes to call me a selfish asshole. FML

Today, my mom accused me of stealing $350 from her. She didn't accuse my unemployed brother, who just bought a brand new iPhone. Even after he confessed to her, she thought he was covering for me. My brother has a criminal record for theft. FML

Show both the police and your mother the video footage. Have him arrested and press charges, he's unlikely to seek help on his own, and hitting rock bottom can sometimes be the only incentive to do so.

I agree and get a house sitter next time. My ex sister in law stole my SSN I'm still dealing with it 15 years later. she worked in 2017 I'm disabled so now I must prove it wasn't me

Your mom's an enabler. If she was a better mother maybe her son wouldn't be an addict criminal right now. Prosecute your brother and cut your mom out of your life. Excusing criminal and abusive behavior helps no one.
