I get were you are coming from, Kara. I've told plenty of my friends that I think of them as my brother or sister. I even found out recently a friend of mine always had a crush on me but since I thought of him as a brother, he didn't try. Now on the matter of the OP, people can be shady. I know I had liked this guy once before. And it seemed he liked me as well. Hitting on me and such. However, when he was around his friends, he'd act totally different. Could be the same for the OP. She assumed they had something and that's why she try to confess but he was around his friend and was being a shady douche. Sucks though OP.

It's good that you were up front about it, better than dropping hints and torturing the guy. Though I think his friend had no right to butt Inc, and he should've told you himself.
