should have left it on the drop box
You entirely deserve it for not returning it earlier, for being surprised at the fine, and being so 'heated' with the librarian that she felt she had to call the police. I don't know why you bothered to return it.
Thank you! I was starting to think I was the only who noticed that. Not sure why the mods didn't catch it and fix it before it got posted...
Yeah exactly. After a few years, there's truly NO point in returning it. I honestly don't get it. What went through OP's mind that thought "Hey! I can finally return it now." After such a long time, it's a lost cause. They've obviously replaced whatever book it was years ago when it wasn't returned.
At all of the libraries I've ever been to, they never charge more than what the book's worth. Weird...
Everyone have that forgettin book from the library
Book police, eh? Did they READ you your rights before escorting you out?
You should have just kept it or said you lost it and paid the price of the book lol iv had a book for MONTHS, they havnt called me or anything, needless to say I won't be going back anytime soon lol
Hope it was a good read
Replacement fees can run to the hundreds. The cops would only have been called if you were causing a scene. YDI
Plus who knows if the OP kept the book in good condition for all that time..
Well you kinda deserve it for having the book for so long...
At least you did the right thing in returning the book.
