OP: unless you are trained to use a gun or knife for self defense, those are NOT good options! any attacker is typically capable of taking the weapon and using it on you. do not handle knives or guns without the proper training. pepper spray/mace, the police, and curtains are definitely the best ways to go here, if YOU believe this is a potential stalker, and not a prank. best of luck!
