whoever thinks that getting alcohol instead of money is a good thing, obviously must be still living at home with their mom or something. alcohol doesnt pay the rent, alcohol doesnt buy food, alcohol doesnt pay the bills. sure you would get wasted, but is that really what you should be spending your life doing? OP: i would tell them to sell the liquor to give you money, or to shove it.

So counter their counter-offer and let them you need to get paid in money, not product. If they're a decent company, but suffering from a shortage in capital, tell them you can take a percent of company stock. Hell, negotiate a fee based on your work - tell them they can pay you based on the increased web-traffic that your nifty new website will sure to produce. Your life isn't ****** because a company you are negotiating a contract with wants to counter-offer your proposal. That's called "business!"
