Today, it's my three month anniversary with my girlfriend and so I decided to bake her a cake from scratch. It took me three hours, a call to my mom, three different recipe books, and half my pantry. On the way to her house, I stopped to pick up flowers and left the cake in the car. It melted. FML

Today, I thought I would be cute for my one year anniversary with my girlfriend, so I cooked a three course meal for her with candles and rose petals on the floor. She loved the dinner, except now she's passed out in a food coma upstairs while I'm left with the dishes. FML

Today, my boyfriend and I got into a fight after the gym. Then, a cheesecake I'd baked for a client cracked all the way through. Then, my oven broke as I was trying to make a new one, so I left to bake it at a friend's house, at which point I locked my keys and all of my supplies inside my car. FML

Today, I baked a cake for when my mum came home. I did everything I needed to do and put it in the oven, set the timer and went to do some things around the house. When my mum came home, she asked why there was a uncooked cake mix sitting in the oven. I forgot to turn the oven on. FML

Today, a coworker left a chocolate cake on the "free food" table in the office. I had a slice. She's just called to ask if she left her grandmother's birthday cake at work. She made it from scratch. Now I'm baking a new cake in the office kitchen. FML

Today, it's my birthday and I was very happy. When the moment came to blow the candles, all of the decoration on the cake flew off. It had taken an hour to make and set them on the cake. FML

Today, I made a very pretty sunflower cake that I woke up incredibly early to make. It took me hours and a lot of money. It was for my grandparents anniversary and my whole family was invited. We only got to see the remains because the waiter gave it to the wrong family, and they ate it. FML

1) Baking a cake from scratch is not that hard. Pick a recipe and stick with it. I don't know what you were swapping between 3 recipe books for. If it took half your pantry, you don't have a very big pantry, or you chose a ridiculously complicated cake for someone who obviously doesn't bake much. 2) How long were you in the flower shop for if your cake MELTED while you were inside?? Cakes don't even melt anyway so I'm presuming it was the icing on the cake that melted.

Wow people on here are wicked harsh about the anniversary thing. Maybe they had a agreement to do that or something. And for the three cook book thing, maybe there were three for the cake, inside (custard? jelly?), and the outside frosting, and this kid was just trying to pick the best recipes for each thing. He was just tryin to be nice. Sheesh
