Today I sent a message out to a support group to get and give support following a sexual assault, the person who responded and was giving advice was the person who assaulted me. FML

I don't know what to say. that is heartbreaking. I am so sorry. It might be worth finding about other support groups, so message because I'm sure there will be one. It is amazing that you are reaching out and really really important. if you message a different group, it won't be the same person there it will hopefully be someone that you can talk to and who will help. thinking of you OP

Also you have to remember some people troll places like that in order to gain some kind of sick thrill. Ted Bundy worked at a suicide hotline and BTK worked in home security installation. Some people are sick and I hope OP reports this person and gets the help they need.

He might be working there to find vulnerable people to assault. It in no way implies he didn’t understand what he was doing, and I’m sure that if anything he’d be more aware of his actions since he hears the accounts of victims. But your comment ended with an ellipsis - are you implying something?

I'm actually curious if they were ALSO a victim of sexual assault, and that's why they are that way. Apparently it's not unusual for those who commit assault to have been victims at one point themselves.
