Today, during a family game of basketball, my 15 year old son shoved me hard to get the ball. I fell and cut my arm badly on the ground. I yelled at him for being an idiot. He replied "Oh jeez, a bleeding woman being a bitch, what a fucking shocker." My husband doubled over laughing. FML

I'm not usually a proponent of corporal punishment, but your son needs his ass kicked.

Shoving happens in sports so I really don't think you should have yelled at him for that. His response was wrong and disrespectful though and your husband should have backed you up.

I think there are two people that need to be grounded

If that was my 15 year old son, I would ground him for the rest of his life! My son was not raised to act that way or to even say things like that. As a parent, you must raise them in the right way and if he still goes down that path all you can do is pray he makes the right choices and be there when he falls to help pick up the pieces.

I don't care if he was 15 or 50 my kid ever said that to my wife. He would get his butt whooped. I would laugh when I was alone.

Honestly most of you take this way too seriously. I doubt he actually meant to hurt his mom like that. She blew up on him and he did the same thing back. He's 15, he's dumb and makes mistakes. There were times when I accidentally cussed at my parents but I didn't just get my ass beat and then grounded for life or anything. That's overboard for a few words. She should talk to her son and make sure it's clear that he can't talk to her like that... as for the husband, I don't really know what to say for him

Is he just copying how his father talks to (about) you?
