Today, my sisters and I pitched together nearly $500 to send my mom to the spa for Mother's Day. We put the printed sheet with her info into a little box with our card on top. When she opened it, she freaked out and started hugging my dad. Turns out he switched the cards and took all the credit. FML

Today, my mother's blatant favouritism of my little brother hit an all time high when she got him his dream car for his 18th birthday, to the tune of £7000. Do you know what she got me for my 18th last year? £10 in a card and a bottle of cheap wine that she ended up drinking herself. FML

Today, for my mom's 50th birthday, all she wanted was a certain gold bracelet. It was too much money for me to buy, so I bought the same one in silver. Right before I gave it to her, my older sister gave her the gold bracelet, which made her cry. When I gave her my present, she just said, "Oh." FML

Today, after spending $120 to have a bouquet of flowers delivered to my mom, she called to complain that I had forgotten about her for Mother's day, but also praise my sister for apparently receiving my flowers I sent at the door and passing them off as hers. FML

At least your Mom cares for the sentimental things. Mine bitched at me for not getting her anything. I'm 1,000 miles away and unemployeed. Called her several times throughout the day to at least wish her a Happy Mother's Day. She never picked up. She only called back to bitch at me.

how is this exactly a FML? your mom obvsiously cared that when it came to the card she REALISED what wonderful children she has?? I know my mom does the exact same thing!

Today, my 2 sons too me out for mother's day. I was taken to this resturant where the food tasted like crap, and my son spent close to $300 on useless junk that I won't use. Then my other son made me a freaking card with crayons and glue. Then the 2 started fighting in front of a large crowd. FML.

that is not an fml. maybe try making something or your mom? I made my mom a card and colored it with crayon, and she cried because it reminded her of when I was little and colored pictures and gave them to her as a gift. it's a sentimental thing. try a sentimental approach. if your older, it will make her heart melt. she's a mom. they love the memories. :)
