For some reason, FML ate my comment...bah. Anyway, I'm a female to male trans person, and when I first started trying to pass, I would get a pixie cut. Kids would assume I was a guy, but most adults would not. Don't know what it is about that haircut.

When I was a kid, my mum did the same and I told her she had broccoli hair. She never cut it short again after the comments her four year old made.

Short hair isn't at all unattractive on many women. The right face (most importantly) can pull it off flawlessly. I've seen plenty of stunning women with short hair. That said, I still prefer long hair. Short hair can be sexy, but long hair is almost always sexier =P

For everyone who is saying the school shouldn't have called, pretend the situation was really as the child said it was. Her mom up and left and all of a sudden she had two daddies. If this was really the situation, the school would need to know about it. It would be a huge change for any child, especially a young one. So, the school had to call, find out what was going on. Not because they're homophobic, but because these changes could effect the child's behaviour at school.

Your hair cut and your daughter's rude comments about it are neither here nor there - why the **** did her school call???? It's none of their business!
