Try another doctor, OP. A good one can tell when somethings wrong.
Current severe anxiety disorder sufferer. Mine is hypochondria and GAD, compounded by clinical depression. I do the same thing, keeping up a happy face. It crushes me when people idolize me for my supposed happiness like "oh, be happy like [my name!]". My advice? Family doctors in my anecdotal experience lack bedside manner. Go to a psychotherapist, a cognitive behavioral therapist, or a counsellor. They're paid to listen and take your problems seriously.
She clearly wasn't trying then and should get fired.
I had a similar experience with my first doctor. It's such a disheartening thing to basically feel shot down when you finally are able to go to someone who's supposed to be there to help. Try another doctor, and if you need to, another after that. It's hard but eventually you'll find someone you click with who'll genuinely help you, and it will be AMAZING. The doctor who finally listened and correctly diagnosed and treated me is pretty much the best thing that ever happened to me. Hang in there.
That's okay! May be because it was your first visit you didn't think of that person as a doctor but just a person and you appeared normal! Make few more appointments, then probably you will open up ! I hope it turns out good for ya! Cheers!
Any good dr would know this you're better off finding another one.
I have precisely the same problem. Don't bother asking for Xanax, they'll just assume you're a peddling derelict.
Oh god I thought I was the only one! I've been refused help by some doctors, but I'm lucky to have found a therapist who actually believes in me. It sucks that most people don't treat mental illnesses as real problems in someone's life.
Thats so life lessons in a prescript dosage for you right there.

If you told her something was wrong and she didn't believe you or even try to help I would suggest finding a different doctor.
It's hard to let down all your walls to a stranger. I suggest getting some counseling that will allow you to gradually ease into it where you can get some real help.
