Today, I drove three hours to go to an awards ceremony. When I got there, I had to wait an hour for the hall to open, then sat listening to speeches for two hours, got my "award", and drove three hours home. The award was a small pin that I already had. FML

Today, I took part in a charity run for a good cause. I'd trained for months and showed up, only to trip and fall flat on my face at the starting line. I spent the rest of the race with scraped knees and a bruised ego. FML

try not to sweat it too much. The outcome of one fight doesn't determine who's the superior fighter. Who knows, if you fought that guy a hundred more times you might win 70 of the matches, but nobody sees that - they only see ONE fight and that's just not enough information to decide who's better. This is why the world series is best of 7 and not just a single match. I think the hockey thing does that with their championships too. Not sure about that one.

Today, I was woken up by my wife calling the police because our garden had been ransacked during the night. A whole row of houses has had their plants uprooted, greenhouses broken into and garden tools stolen. The cops haven't found any leads and I feel terrible for my wife, who poured her heart and soul into that garden. FML
