This is stupid. Being married at birth makes way more sense. Otherwise, there's more papers to fill out since you have to declare the father extra, you won't have time for a wedding in the first months or a honeymoon in the next years. And, not to scare you, but what if something happens to you during birth and he needs to take care of the child or you? Way way harder without being officially married or the father. Likewise, if something happens to him at anytime and you're not married, you won't be entitled to anything and you can't make any decisions for him.
