Today, I'd finally reached my goal weight. I went into the office where my husband was, to show him the new size 8 jeans I'd bought. He responded with "I wouldn't buy any more clothes, you'll be putting the weight back on again soon." FML

Two possibilities: A) He's insecure now that OP's improved her appearance— and more importantly, has gained confidence— that he's got to tear her self-esteem down to keep her to himself or to make himself feel better about his own flaws, or B) He's a total douche. Sorry OP; don't let him steal your pride in yourself.

148, She lost weight and made it to a size she likes. A lot of people celebrate reaching their goal weight. She never says how tall she is which can also affect her size. Size 4-5 on some people 5' 7"+ sometimes looks unnatural/"bony" look. I know I would if I lost more. I went from 9-10 down to wearing 6s and 7s and I'm only 5'6". :)

People are silly. She lives in Australia, just like me. Over here a size ten is an american size 4 or less, so she is quite skinny ...

You obviously live in the US with their distorted image of beauty. Size 8 in Europe would be 'you could lose a bit, but it's still okay'. I'd say size 6 is the perfect skinny size. Anything smaller is just... ugly.

An Australian (where OP lives) size 8 is a U.S. size 2-4. Besides, an American size 8 isn't even big.
