Today, I took the piss out of my younger brother for spending money on “fake internet clothes” in video games. Last week I spent 3 hours researching the perfect ergonomic office chair and paid extra for “limited edition fabric.” I'm apparently one financial decision away from becoming the exact nerd I used to bully. FML

Atleast the thing you bought exists and wont be lost when the servers get switched off.

As a person with aspergers and back issues, i found the proper ergonomic chair is a god send. I found a nice one, and hated its fabric. I ended up buying covers since i have tactile texture issues and the cover happened to hide the scratchy fabric it had (i also bought the chair used at goodwill. Someone donated a extremely expensive high end chair). Plus my cats don’t like the fabric and won’t scratch it. When working, if it’s not for asthetics, i can see changing the fabric but a cover can work just as well if it’s for looks. My back (and mind) thanks me for what i did. However I still agree about digital goods costing real money. I can buy a subscription as i see the value (30 day’s entertainment for less than a movie of 2 hours) but screw pixels costing $10. If i can’t earn it by effort in game, I don’t want it. Sadly, my wife is opposite and does what your brother does. That does frustrate me. I’m kinda split on this. But maybe if it’s not your money, keep your opinions to yourself
