Unethical

Today, I decided to take a personal day from class and e-mailed all of my professors saying I had flu symptoms. While standing in line at Starbucks later, someone behind me said, "Glad you're feeling better. Hope you can attend class tomorrow, we'll discuss lying." It was my Ethics professor. FML

Oh, the irony. Your ethics must be taking a sick day, too. *cough* *sneeze* Start sniffling and tell him that a Pumpkin Spice Latte really clears your congestion. :] OR, punch him in the face and run.

YDI. And besides people, it's never stated at what time of day that he went to starbucks. For all we know, the professor could be on his lunch break, and decided to go to starbucks, where he spots the OP, apparently well.

YDI, if your gonna call in sick, you cant allow yourself to be seen in public. is this your first time skipping class? bc your obviously very amateur about it.

You obviously have never been to college. Nobody really cares whether or not you go to class. You're paying for them to teach you, you're not being forced to go.

YDI for saying you had flu symptoms. Just don't go to class, and if someone asks, just tell them the truth - you were feeling a bit overwhelmed and needed to take a personal day, and will be making up the work that you missed.

The fact that he e-mailed his professors indicates that he is probably in smaller classes (you're not going to e-mail a prof when there's 100+ people in your class just because you can't make it) or that there was an assignment due that day, or that participation/attendance is required. Otherwise why would he have e-mailed them? Considering that one of those was likely what drove him to lie to his professors, he is probably going to get penalized.

YDI for leaving the house on your personal day.

That's so awesome that it was your ethics professor that caught you.

Ehh, it's not that bad of a YDI, everyone skips school/college at least once in their lifetime. I did once when I was 11. My bus came at 7:55 and I woke up at 8:15 and freaked out. I called my friend's mom and told her to call the school and tell them I'm sick, she did. Then, she took me to her house and treated m with bacon and eggs :P and I watched T.V all day on the couch. then she sent me home with chicken noodle soup, chicken tenders, and a bottle of sprite :) Skipping class FTW

OOH badass 11-year-old alert. lol, but sounds like it wasn't intentional, you just woke up late.

A friend of mine also recently took advantage of the flu paranoia to get out of class. Fortunately he had the good sense to stay home and play video games. lol.

You gave your ethics teacher material for his class; in which case, he'll probably forgive you after humiliating you by making you the subject of the class about lying. Sounds like he has a sense of humour, anyway ;) I think I like your ethics professor.
