Adopt. There are more than enough kids who are just thrown away, and the screening isn't a super difficult process
That's pretty insensitive for your doctor to say. I'm sorry OP, that's a terrible situation to be in. Look into harvesting your eggs if you want biological children, otherwise, adoption is awesome! So many kids go without loving homes. I hope all goes well for you.
Get another option!!!!
Well better save some for the future
Lucky. i wish i needed a hysterectomy. you can have my stupid reproductive body in exchange for yours gladly.
Besides that being extremely inconsiderate to the feelings of women who want children but can't have them, you should be glad you have a healthy body and doesn't need an invasive and life altering surgery. You can get your tubes tied by choice, if you want it. No need to remove your uterus or say that kind on insensitive crap.
Absolutely get a second opinion. Most doctors I've been to -- and I've been to a lot because I have endometriosis -- won't even consider a hysterectomy on women at your age because of all the awful ramifications it can have not to mention the fact that you won't be able to have children the natural way. There are times I'm in so much pain that I want to rip my uterus right out and tried to find someone who would remove it for me but after hearing about all the negative side effects I have chosen to try a different route. Don't do anything without being 100% certain that's what's best for your overall health, mentally and physically.
Get it. I can't begin to stress how important that is. The reason I say this is because my grandma has cervical cancer, and she could've prevented it by getting a hysterectomy
there's a cervical cancer vaccine now, which OP has probably had if she's 22. condolences to your family, though.
We don't know the circumstances on why OP is being told to have a hysterectomy. This is a MAJOR surgery that can have long and lasting physical effects on a woman's body. OP needs to get a second opinion and go from there. Also, I'm sorry about your grandmother. I hope she has an easy time of it.
Yes, but you wouldn't even be around to comment, if she'd opted for a hysterectomy before you were born. 22 is extremely young - she should definitely get a second opinion.

Well there are two options: you may be able to harvest some eggs and save them for later for use in ivf, or you can adopt and give an existing kid a loving home. Either way, best of luck OP.
That sucks; I'd go get a second opinion if I were in your shoes.
