Today, I was invited by my boyfriend's parents for dinner at their house. The dinner went well I thought, until I was getting ready to leave. Before I could make it out the front door, I could hear them discussing their disappointment that their son would ever consider someone like me. FML

Get used to it. The tagline on my personalized stationery is: Disappointing the in-laws since 1996. You are never going to be good enough, but then again, none of us ever are. ;) If you love the guy, you can wait and take your revenge when they are old and demented. Mwahahahaha!

I'm lucky to never have had this problem with my boyfriend, but then again his mom is a CEO of an engineering firm so she is probably much more reasonable and realistic than some of these stay at home moms who have nothing better to do than dote on their "perfect little boy"
