its because its a veryyyyy common irrational fear, so no matter how many times you tell me theyre normally harmless and good for the environment, my mind will not let me be okay around them because its irrational and they scare me.

It is interesting. I'm absolutely terrified of spiders even though I know I have no reason to be. I always tell myself that they aren't going to hurt me and that they're just going about their business and don't care about me, but whenever I actually see one I just completely freak out. Very odd.

exactly, 49. i myself actually feel bad for killing them because theyre peaceful, but if its in my house it gotta die because i cant have it near me and im not picking it up to take it outside. even just talking about spiders in detail can sometimes make me twitchy and anxious when theres none to be seen. yet ive held a scorpion and liked it, even want one as a pet and have no problem with them even though they are still arachnids. so it makes NO sense...
