Today, I opened my front door to be greeted by what I can only describe as the stink of death. After moving furniture and lifting floorboards, frantically searching for whatever had died, I finally discovered the actual source of the stench - my girlfriend's feet. FML

Today, I walked into my apartment after work, only be to greeted by an awful smell. I searched every inch of the place, convinced something had died. After an hour of searching around, I found the source: a single forgotten boiled egg in one of my backpack's pockets. I will never forget the smell of sulphur or whatever it was. FML

Today, I discovered the source of the vile stench in my room. My daughter had "saved" a bird from our cat and put it in a box under my bed, hoping to nurse it back to health. She forgot about it, leaving the corpse rotting in there for who knows how long. FML

my sister works at a fast food place and her shoes stink so bad, we had to ask her to start putting them in the garage when she got home. Hopefully the stench isn't of natural causes that can be bad. still gotta love her tho!

Thanks for the comments guys, some of them helpful, others just plain funny! I'm not sure what happened yesterday, my girlfriend showers everyday and though her feet have smelled once or twice in the past, normally they're no worse than the next person, but this just seemed like something created the perfect storm of stink for some reason! It was really weird. She always wears open toed shoes (she has a favourite type, forget what they're called), you would think that would keep her feet cool and dry (and not smelling!) at this time of year but it just didn't work this time for some reason!

Sometimes it can be the shoes themselves that stink. If so, they might need a wash. That's partly why socks are important for shoes that you wear on a regular basis: so they don't get smelly. That's probably not much help considering she wears "open toed shoes", but anything that might help is worth a thought.
