Depending what state you are in, most towing companies must allow the car to be there for an hour before towing. That is the way it is in California, check out the vehicle codes in your state, and you may have a small claims case you could win.
i completely agree with 17 "those parking lot guys dont get paid enough to take shit from people so YDI" and that goes for any other person who has a low paying job and has to deal with assholes like you on a daily basis. you coulda just asked him 5 bucks for what? instead of being a dick.
sounds like you are a dick and dont respect the working man, ill bet he wasnt that scetchy, he probly even had on some kind of uniform. Maybe you should have listened! YDI
Why'd he tow it? Why didn't he explain who he is? Random, this....
wow the park attendant is a dumb ass!!! u dont just say give me 5 bucks. say that ur a parking attendant duh
He definitely did not deserve it. Where I live (Brazil), paid parking is ALWAYS clearly delimited, and prices are shown up front. Of course, being a poor country, there are people "charging" you for the privilege of parking on public street (the so-called "flanelinhas"), mostly by threatening to damage your vehicle or allow robbers to break into it should you not pay their fees. Some people pay them, but their modus operandi is downright illegal, and they would never be able to tow your otherwise lawfully parked car away.
It takes a lot longer than a few minutes to tow a car. This is hardly believable.

I'm sure he tried to tell you what he was doing and you just didn't listen. YDI I hope that pizza tasted good while you were sitting on the curb.
Seems kinda weird... a "Sketchy" guy would ASK for $5? You'd think they'd explain first and then tell you the price - if any. I would've thought it'd be up to the customer to leave some sort of tip for parking attendance... ... HMM.
