I once told a woman her boyfriend was a thief (I had personally caught him at my job) before she told me he was her boyfriend. If they're really shitty people, don't feel bad about saying it like it is.
So how does that foot in your mouth taste?
My dad's students either loved him or hated him, didn't seem there was any in between, so I've been in that supervisor's shoes. It didn't bother me, though, I knew how it was.
If someone asks if you know someone else it's safe to say that they know them.
I recommend learning the phrase: "Yes, why do you ask?"
If he was asking about a specific teacher, it's pretty obvious that he knows the guy and that you shouldn't talk shit about him.
