Early warning

Today, I woke up at 3 a.m. to get ready for a "fun work retreat". After driving 2 hours to the site, I find that nobody's there. After about half an hour standing there freezing, I get an email from my boss, telling me that, "It's canceled due to bad weather." FML

It's possible there was a message beforehand you were not made aware of, based on the fact no coworkers were there. That, or they were just smart enough to just stay home!

Sorry that happened OP. Let's hope you just weren't getting any reception and that your boss wasn't being a complete ass and leaving you out in the cold.

I think you need a blanket, a cup of cocoa, and to sit by the fire. Oh, but you need to cuss out your boss first, (in your head of course). :)

Always call to check beforehand. That was one wasted day.

Looking at your location.. I say its such a misery

If you drove, why did you have to stand outside freezing? Lol

Maybe they took a train, bus or even bike?

"After driving two hours to the site...". I think that answers that question.

Who keeps their car running while waiting?

should have called rather than emailing.

Can they compensate you for the money spent on gas/petrol?

I wonder why you were the only one that didn't get the memo. And then you conveniently get it only once you arrive.

Always check frequently it's a good way to find out if anything changes

Can't even text message or call? It's 2015 right..
