Confused man

Today, my dad made me come home from work because he couldn’t find his shopping list (on the fridge, in plain sight), his left shoe (by the door, in plain sight), his cane (on the table, in plain sight) or his wallet (in his trouser pocket). He’s 44 and to my knowledge does not have dementia. FML

OP, he could have early onset dementia and you might want to have him tested. There are drugs to slow down the progression of dementia but its nothing that can be cured unfortunately. I care full time for my grandmother with dementia and its nothing to play with. Most importantly, be kind and patient with your father, even if he doesn't have it, hes the only dad you have! Hope this helps. <3
